The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has said that he owes the editor of the Dispatch Newspaper a great deal of gratitude for saving his life some time ago.

The firebrand politician speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Friday said the persons who were seeking to end his life were exposed by Ben Ephson.

The unnamed persons, who are standing trial, he said plotted against him because he was becoming a thorn in the flesh of the then John Mahama administration.

His revelations of acts of alleged corruption that were going on under the administration, he said served as the main basis for the ‘evil doers’ seeking to murder him.

The claim of the Assin Central MP was confirmed by the pollster on the show who said an informant alerted him that some persons were plotting to kill Ken Agyapong.

“It is true, some years ago but I have forgotten the actual year, I had the information that some people wanted to go and kill him (Ken Agyapong),” he confirmed.

The veteran journalist added that he did not publish the story but instead referred it to the then Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammad Alhsassan.

“With my experience, I didn’t do the story but referred it to IGP, Muhammad Alhassan…,” he said further.

According to the pollster who is always at the receiving end of insults from members and sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the police arrested the persons that were plotting against Kennedy Agyapong and arraigned them before court.

The Dispatch Editor said he never bothered to follow up on the case until last year when the informant denied claims by the police at the court that their investigations unearth the evil plot to end the life of mogul.

“I didn’t bother to check till last year when the case went to court because the police were trying to say it was their own investigation that led to the arrest of the people that sought to murder Ken Agyapong…the informant named me as the one he relayed the information to…,” he said.

Asked if a ruling has been given in the case, Ben added that he couldn’t tell because he has not been following the case.

“The case is still in court…Oman FM followed that story, they can tell…,” he added.
