“I came here with my wife, and children. Please tell Hanna to also come and show us her husband,” he said.

The aspiring MP has been criticized Mr. Andah for the comments, describing it as misogynistic and chauvinistic.

Others have also urged him to render an apology to the Member of Parliament.

But Mr. Andah in a Facebook video said his comment was in response to allegations by Hanna Tetteh’s campaign team that he (George Andah) was irresponsible.

“I didn’t say she has a husband or she didn’t have a husband. I showed my wife. There are issues going round that I am irresponsible and all I said was that I come to the constituency with my wife, I come to the constituency with my children,” he said.

But the angry women who call themselves Concern Women at Awutu Senya West constituency have threatened to invoke curses on Mr Andah if he fails to publicly retract his comment.

According to them, his comment is sexist and an insult to unmarried women seeking leadership particularly in politics.

The aggrieved women who embarked on demonstration through the principal streets of Awutu Tuesday to register their displeasure in an interview with Adom News’ Kofi Adjei vowed to vote massively vote against the NPP and the MP elect in the area if he still insists on his comment.

“George Andah should apologise because his comment is very bad. So is he telling us that he has not seen a divorced woman before? He should go and look for women and men in wedding ring to vote for him because we won’t vote for him because we don’t have husbands.

“Hannah Tetteh is on our heart and we are very hurt that such words have been spoken against her. We really admire George Andah but this one is way below the belt.

“If he is trying to tell he (Hannah) that she is a prostitute, at least she uses that money to cater for the needy and all of us and so he (George) should apologise now else we will go naked and curse him. He should dare not sleep with anyone else he will also be considered as a prostitute” one angry woman declared.
