We have taken notice of the deliberate attempt by some unscrupulous politicians, engaged in a smear campaign against the King of Ashanti Kingdom, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Article, “MAHAMA IMPREGNATES OTUMFUO’S DAUGHTER”, circulating widely on social media by apparatchiks of the Opposition New Patriotic Party and circulated on online portals, which seeks to portray tension between Manhyia Palace and the Presidency is another falsehood brewed by enemies of our wise king, aimed at destroying the relationship between the King and His Excellency the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama and also bringing his distinguished name and throne into disrepute.
We have painstakingly investigated the authenticity of such news item and we wish to state on authority that:
1. Manhyia Palace has no knowledge of an Affair between the President of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama and one Ohemaa, let alone impregnate her as the wicked propaganda story sought to portray. Such thing is non existent and can be described as a fabrication at best.
2. The Kingdom has a very cordial relationship with President Mahama and his government, as has always been the case with all government.
3. This story, is a fabricated piece by blackmailers and political mercenaries, who are seeking to use this story to frustrate the rather peaceful relationship between the Presidency and Manhyia Palace.
As a group, we urge all, especially, politicians, to desist from using the Kingdom, the King and other relations of Otumfuo Osei Tutu, to score cheap political points.
We are ashamed of the constant attempt by the NPP to use Otumfuo for their negative campaign. We shall not hesitate to henceforth name and shame all those hidden hands smearing the King and destroying relations but also invoke curses on them if they do not desist from this sacrilege against the spirit and soul of Ashanti Kingdom.
