The Overlord of Ashanti encouraged the 41-year old versatile musician and philanthropist to continue with his humanitarian project to help save more lives and put smiles on the faces of beneficiaries and their families.

The Asantehene made these remarks when Okyeame Kwame born Kwame Nsiah-Appau and his management paid a visit to him at the Manhyia Palace.

The visit was to get Asantehene’s support on the Hepatitis B campaign and also show to Otumfuo the honour bestowed on him (Okyeame Kwame) by the USA government as acknowledgement to his humanitarian works.

The mayor of Cincinnati in the United Stated in November 2016 honoured the Ghanaian rapper with the “Key to the City” for his unprecedented efforts in fighting Hepatitis B.

This comes with a responsibility on Okyeame Kwame to establish a sister relations between his city (Kumasi) and the city of Cincinnati as a Cultural Ambassador.

The versatile musician unveiled the content of the citation and the ‘Key’ given to him by the mayor of Cincinnati to the Asantehene to seek for his blessings and help as the relationship is created towards Kumasi and Cincinnati.

The OK Foundation with the support of MDS-Lancet laboratories has for the past years given free hepatitis B screening, education, and vaccination for about 8,000 people across Ghana and intends to extend the humanitarian cause to other African countries by next year.

Okyeame Kwame hinted that they want to increase the number of persons to benefit from the free hepatitis B screening from 1,000 to 5,000 yearly.

The ‘Rap Doctor’ tasked his fans to expect something big from him this year and the years to come.

“When you hear Okyeame Kwame, think of excellence and an artiste who will go every mile to make sure that his career will have a positive impact on the society”.

Manager of Okyeame Kwame Earl Ankrah is hopeful of a bright and successful relationship between City of Cincinnati and Kumasi city with the massive endorsement by the Asantehene.
