The NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Suame constituency in the Ashanti Region in the 2016 general elections, Brogya Genfi has encouraged supporters of the opposition Natonal Democratic Congress (NDC) who are carrying their lawful duties to the state to go to work prepared in anticipation of any unlawful attack.
There have been several reported cases of seizures and take-over of public facilities and state installation by some youth of the governming New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the inauguration of President Nana Addo.
According to him, these irresponsible and condemnable conducts have received silent endorsement by the leadership of the NPP as no authority seems concerned about the attacks by the NPP youth and supporters in the country.
In an interview with Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo, Brogya Genfi who’s also the former Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC, stated that supporters of the NDC should protect themselves and match the NPP supporters boot for boot.
“I’m not saying our supporters should go and attack anybody, but when you’re at you work place doing legitimate work and you don’t arm yourself and you’re suddenly attacked and killed, you would have died a needless death, but when you prepare for such attacks, you can protect yourself in that event. Don’t depend on the police to protect you, do the protection yourself.”
