A middle-aged woman suspected to be a thief has been forced to eat her own faeces and stripped naked for attempting to steal from a room at Dichemso, a suburb of Kumasi.
The woman, who only gave her named as Gifty stated that she had gone to Dichemso from Atonsu, another suburb of Kumasi to run an errand but failed to explain how she ended up in the room of one Christiana Agyeiwaa, a tenant of a house adjacent to Fabulous Hotel at Dichemso.
An angry mob who besieged the house forced her to eat her own toilet which according to them was wrapped in a plastic bag and hidden in a hand bag she was carrying.
According to the youth, it has become the modus operandi of “thieves” like Gifty to feign madness when they are apprehended, so they smear themselves with faecal matter to avoid being beaten or arrested.
After forcing her to eat her own faeces, the angry mob instructed ‘Gifty’ to strip stark naked.
It took the timely intervention of personnel of the Airport Police Station to rescue her from the angry mob who were threatening to lynch her.
She has since been taken to the Airport Police Station for interrogation.
