Akwasi Nyantakyi Insults Justice Dzamefe and Men

Once again, the GFA boss, Akwasi Nyantakyi has exhibited gross arrogance and disrespect to the Dzamefe commission charged with investigating the Brazil saga.
Mr. Nyantakyi’s paid entourage from the GFA who followed him to the sitting, and their intermittent clapping and cheering basically turned the whole exercise into a circus.
His refusal to take an oath to speak the truth on his second day of appearance, the incessant exchanges with commission member Mr. Foh Amoaning on why he chose to swear with a Quran instead of a bible as a known Christians would do show how much he had purported to treat the commission with contempt. His body language and the smirk on his face smacks off sheer arrogance and pomposity.
Where in the world would a witness appearing before an investigating body, accuse a panelist of witching hunting and ambushing, especially when that individual has lead the biggest scandal ever rocked the GFA, bringing the good name of Ghana into disrepute and making her global laughing stock? Mr. Nyantakyi’s swollen head would not let him budge, not even after constant appeals from the commission to withdraw his unfounded allegations.
It seems to me that Mr. Nyantakyi is above the law. His constant elusiveness in answering questions posed to him and his quick jabs to commission chairman Justice Dzamefe attests to the “untouchable status” he has acclaimed to himself in Ghanaian sports arena.
In answering questions in reference to a letter he wrote to FIFA in an attempt to thwart the institution of this commission, the GFA boss literally called Justice Dzamefe and his men toothless bull dogs who can only show their teeth but cannot bite. Nyantakyi’s insolence was so damning that Justice Dzamefe had no choice but to concede that he has no power to indict Mr. Nyantakyi and his henchmen.
I don’t want to believe that this whole exercise is a window dressing to throw a cold blanket over what happened in Brazil. I want to believe that Justice Dzamefe’s commission would make good on its promise to get to bottom of this scandal so as to bring justice to the many Ghanaian football fans who feel betrayed by Nyantakyi and his crooks at the GFA.
