The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has for the second time in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations named Gambian Gassama Bakary as referee for a Black Stars game.
He will officiate the Ghana-Cameroon semi-final clash at the Stade de Franceville in Franceville.
Bakary, two-time African best referee, was at the center in the Stars’ 0-1 loss to Egypt in the final Group D game.
His performance in that match came under criticism from Deputy Captain Andre Dede Ayew, who told BeIN Sports that the Gambian, named African best in 2014 and 2016, should have done better.
Bakary Gassama will be assisted on Thursday by Burundian Birumushahu Jean-Claude and Sudanese Ahmed Ali Waleed.
Joshua Bondo, the Motswana who refereed Ghana’s inaugural game, will be the Fourth Official.
Meanwhile, Senegalese Diedhiou Malang will officiate the first semi-final match on Wednesday, February 1 between Egypt and Burkina Faso.
He will be assisted by compatriots Camara Djibril and Samba El Hadji Malick.
