The National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, has resolved to treat those who raided his house and made away with five vehicles as thieves.

Mr. Adams says, “I will take personal action against them and treat them like thieves because the laws of the country don’t permit them to enter into my house and take those cars”.

“There is no warrant, no court order, how can you enter my house and take away the cars, so I will not let it go like that,” Mr. Adams told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa on Thursday.

Some alleged gun-wielding military men on Wednesday entered the Tema-Golf City residence of the 2016 election Campaign Coordinator for NDC and took away five vehicles.

The alleged military men were believed to have gone to the home of Mr. Adams in the company of a supposed bodyguard of Nana Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic.

Mr. Adams, who is currently out of the country but was informed by his brother who was in the house at the time of the ransacking, explained that three of the cars are two Toyota Landcruisers and one of the pick-ups is his personally while the remaining two belong to his office for his operations.

He pointed out that “these people are walking around stealing people’s property because this is not the first time they have come into my house. They were there last Saturday on the same mission”.

Kofi Adams alleged that if the government wants to sell the cars to fund their one-district-one-factory policy, then they can get more cars because all the ministers and their deputies under the then NDC administration left their official vehicles for their various ministries”.

When the host, Bright Asempa asked whether the vehicles have been returned, Mr. Adams said they were returned on Wednesday around 11pm but when his brother told them the case has been reported to the Golf City Police and so they should take inventories of the cars, the people left.

The NDC National Organizer said the two pick-ups that are not in his name were given to his office and cannot disclose the identity of those who gave them to his office because he does not have their permissions to do so.

“They are not registered in my name but they are being used by office so anyone who wants to the details can go to the DVLA to secure the documents. Even trees have their owners so the cars have owners but I am not here to speak to you about the ownership,” Mr. Adams noted.
