Just last week, the GFA came out to categorically deny holding talks with the French international but sportsworldghana.com has established the FA initially held talks with Willy Sagnol to become Ghana’s next coach.

Sportsworldghana.com highly placed sources indicate the former Bayern Munich player disqualification comes as a result of his high demands of $800,000 a year, a little more than what Grant was taking as head coach of the Black Stars.

Ghanaians had heavily criticized the amount paid to the Israeli trainer who was earning more than the President of Ghana.

The second reason for the FA discontinuing pursuit for Sagnol our outfit understands is his racism scandal in 2014.

Willy Sagnol has come under severe criticisms over his perception that African players are unintelligent and indiscipline, despite having the strength on the field.

”The advantage of the typical African player is that he is not expensive when you take him, he’s generally ready to fight and he is powerful on the pitch. But football is not just that, it’s also technique, intelligence, discipline” Sagnol said in an interview with local newspaper Sud Ouest in 2014.

An anti-racist association had publicly come out to criticize his racist comment. Lilian Thuram, his former playing mate at the national team and anti-racism associations hit out at Sagnol, who has the backing of his club.

‘It’s laid-back anti-black racism,’ SOS Racisme said in a statement, asking that ‘the LFP (French League), FFF (French Federation) and the Sports ministry take immediate sanctions.’

The former Bordeaux coach have since apologized for his comments made about African players but maintains he was misinterpreted.

The reported negotiations between Sagnol and the federation was progressing well, with both parties looking to signing a two-year deal but the talks are said to be stalled.
