We Can Equally Fire Avram As We Did Kwesi Appiah – Sam Johnson

The former Ghanaian international says the Ghana Football Association should be bold enough to show Coach Avram Grant the exit if they feel he’s not performing.

According to him, former Coach Kwesi Appiah was relief of his duties at a time he had almost qualified Ghana for the Equatorial Guinea 2015 Nations cup and does not see why the nation’s football governing body should fail to sack the former Chelsea boss if indeed they are not satisfied with his performance.

[For me I’m convinced Kwesi Appiah did a great job when he was managing the Black Stars team]

Speaking to Kuamsi based Abusua Fm, Johnson said the FA should delete assertion that no Ghanaian coach currently qualifies to lead the Black Stars team since he believes there are well qualified and competent coaches locally who can manage the Black Stars team.

He adds with a better salary and massive support from Ghanaians any local coach appointed to manage the Black Stars team can succeed.

[It is never true that we as at now do not have any better coach locally not manage the Black Stars team, I think we should start grooming our own to handle our team. There are coaches like Kwesi Appiah, David Duncan and the likes who can manage the team when offered the opportunity].

He added ‘[For me I think Grant has not performed creditably well as expected of him and s I see not wrong with the FA sacking him if they are not impressive with his recent performance’’ Sam Johnson stated].

Commenting on Wednesday’s AFCON 2017 draw held in Lebreville whether Ghana can qualify from the group stage, he mentioned that though he has no hope in Grant he believes the playing body will work assiduously to shock their group opponents with the work of Avram GRANT.

‘’I don’t trust Avram but I know the players will play their hearts out and sacrifice themselves for the nation and give us qualification from the difficult group.

Ghana is drawn alongside, Congo DR. Egypt and Uganda for the 2017 Nations cup tournament which will be held in Gabon later next year.
