Numbers and Facts From GPL First Round

The first round of the 2017 Ghana Premier League has come to a successful end. WAFA lead the log while new entrants Bolga All Stars are rooted at the bottom. Olympics, Kotoko and Ashantigold have had to change managers along the course of the first round. Kweku Arhin reviews the numbers in an intriguing first round.

MOST WINS:

WAFA have the most wins after 15 games. The Sogakope side have won 10 matches. Aduana comes closest with 8 victories out of 15.

MOST DEFEATS:

Ashantigold and Bolga All Stars have lost the most matches. Both teams have lost 9 out of 15 matches.

MOST DRAWS:

Aduana Stars, Medeama, Asante Kotoko, Inter Allies, Elmina Sharks and Great Olympics have drawn the most in their games. They have drawn 6 matches out of 15.

LEAST WINS:

Bolga All Stars have won the fewest matches in the first round. The entrants won only 2 out 15 matches.

LEAST DEFEATS:

Aduana Stars lost the fewest matches. The 2010 league champions lost only one game and that was away to Ebusua Dwarfs on March 18.

MOST HOME WINS:

WAFA won the most at home in the first round claiming 7 victories out of 8 at home.

MOST HOME DEFEATS:

Ashantigold and Bolga All Stars have lost the most at home going down 3 times in the first round.

MOST HOME DRAWS:

Asante Kotoko and Bechem United have drawn most games at home. The pair have drawn 4 matches at home.

MOST AWAY WINS:

Aduana Stars, WAFA and Bechem United have won away at home more than any club. The trio have won three games away from home.

MOST AWAY DRAWS:

Aduana Stars, Medeama, Elmina Sharks and Inter Allies have drawn more games away from home. They have drawn 4 matches.

MOST AWAY DEFEATS:

Tema Youth, Ashantigold and Bolga All Stars have lost away from home more than any club. They have all lost 6 matches.

MOST GOALS:

WAFA have scored the most goals in the first round. The league leaders have scored 24 goals. That is an average of 1.6 goals per game.

LEAST CONCEDED:

Aduana Stars have conceded the least goals in the first round. The Dormaa side have let in only 8 goals.

MOST CONCEDED:

Bolga All Stars have conceded 30 goals in 15 matches. That is an average of 2 goals conceded per game.

MOST HOME GOALS:

WAFA have scored the most goals at home. They have scored 16 out of their 24 at home.

MOST GOALS AWAY:

Aduana have scored most away goals. They have scored 10 out of their 21 goals from Dormaa.

LEAST HOME GOALS:

Bechem United have the least goals at home. They have managed to score only 5 goals at home.

LEAST AWAY GOALS:

Bolga All Stars and Inter Allies have scored the least away from home. Both teams have scored only two goals away from home.

LEAST SCORED:

Asante Kotoko have scored the fewest goals in the first round. The Porcupine Warriors scored 9 goals out of 15 matches.

PLAYER WITH MOST GOALS:

Nicholas Gyan has scored the most goals in the first round. The Dwarfs attacker has banged in 15 goals.
