Aduana Stars moved two points clear at the top of the table as the Ghana Premier League entered week six on Saturday and Sunday.

The ‘Ogya’ Boys had Derrick Sasraku’s winner in injury time to thank for the 2-1 away victory over Inter Allies on Saturday. Nathaniel Asamoah had earlier cancelled out Isaac Twum’s first half opener for the home side at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra.

Nearest contenders Asante Kotoko were unable to pick three points on Sunday, having been held to a 1-1 away deadlock by newly-promoted Bolga All Stars. Noah Neequaye’s goal on 73 minutes restored parity in Tamale following Yakubu Mohammed’s 20th minute strike for the Porcupine Warriors.

Hearts of Oak are back to winning ways following a 2-1 triumph over Great Olympics in the ‘Mantse’ Derby at the Accra Sports Stadium. Inusah Musah was the hero of the day, his 71st minute goal securing full points. Paul Acquah put the Phobians in front on 24 minutes, before Benjamin Arthur restored parity for Oly, who sit bottom of the table. Hearts have moved three places up to the sixth spot.

Wa All Stars have jumped to the third position, courtesy of a surprise 1-0 away victory over Medeama at the Tarkwa T&A Park. Kelvin Matthew Andoh’s goal was the separating factor.

Ashanti Gold, 2014-15 champions, have reluctantly joined the bottom three in light of their 4-2 home reversal to Bechem United. Goals from Tijani Joshua and Kofi Owusu could not save the Miners as Ahmed Toure (2x), Alfred Nelson and Akoto Danso were on target for the Hunters.

Liberty Professionals picked their third win of the season with a 2-1 triumph over Ebusua Dwarfs. Samuel Sarfo and Emmanuel Sarpong found the back of the net for the Scientific Soccer Lads, while Nicholas Gyan fetched the away side’s consolation.

At Sogakope, Wafa beat Tema Youth to three points with goals from Abukari Ibrahim and Majeed Ashimeru. Joseph Paintsil scored for Youth.

And finally at the Nduom Stadium, Elmina Sharks handed Berekum Chelsea a 2-1 defeat. Joseph Mensah and Tetteh Nortey ensured the new boys’second topflight win. Justice Anane recorded the Blues’ only goal.
