Former Hearts of Oak managers Kenichi Yastuhashi and Eddie Ansah, as well as former Medeama coach Tom Strand, have applied for the vacant coaching role at Ashanti Gold, Goal understands.
The Miners are without a manager ahead of their Ghana Premier League matchday nine home game against Bolga All Stars on Sunday following Bashir Hayford’s resignation on Friday.
He left the 2015 league champions in 15th position after five seasons in charge.
Although the club has announced that first team assistant coach Yakubu Sherrif Mambo and goalkeeping coach Ben Owu have taken over in the interim, reports suggest that a new manager will arrive before the end of April.
Yatsuhashi is currently in charge of Cambodian side Tiger FC while Strand, who was recently linked with Great Olympics, has been without a job since leaving Medeama in 2016.
Hayford played a total of 127 games in all competitions since taking over Ashanti Gold in 2012, winning 51 and sharing the spoils 38 times. The Miners also recorded 38 defeats as well as scoring 149 goals and conceding 129 goals.
He had 40.1 percent winning rate, as well as 29.9 percent draws and defeats respectively.
