Swansea City forward Jordan Ayew has expressed his delight after scooping three awards on Wednesday night at a gala held at the Liberty Stadium.
Ayew was voted as the 2017/18 Swansea City Players’ Player of the Year after his superlative form for the club in the ongoing campaign.
The former Olympique Marseille hitman has netted 11 goals in the season to become the Swans top scorer
The 26-year-old saw his performance throughout the season earning plaudits from his manager and teammates.
The Ghanaian beat competition from goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and Alfie Mawson to pick the award.
Also, he was adjudged the club’s overall topscorer after his 11 goal haul and his strike against Wolves in the fourth round of the FA Cup was selected as the club’s goal of the season.
However, goalkeeper Fabianski won the Supporters’ Player of the Year ahead of Ayew following his point-blank saves to keep their dream of surviving the relegation battle intact.
Ayew could not hide his not after picking the gongs and thanked his team-mates for voting for him before urging them to keep fighting for their Premier League status.
“It means a lot to me that my team-mates voted for me. The season has not been great but we have three games and we want to keep fighting.”
“I am sure we will stay in the Premier League because we deserve it and my team-mates deserve it.”
“The club has been so good so I give my 100 per cent for them.”
Ayew’s senior brother Andre who was once the fans’ favourite and won several awards at the same occasion three seasons ago, was in attendance to support his brother.
