How Ghanaian Players Abroad Fared In Opening Weekend of CAF’s Inter-Clubs Competitions

As the 2018 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup commenced this weekend, GHANAsoccernet.com brings you a round up of Ghanaian players who were involved for their various clubs on the continent.

In Burkina Faso, champions Rail Club Kadiogo pipped CF Mounana from Gabon with a 1-0 scoreline in the Champions League.

There were five Ghanaian players who involved in the qualifier between Nigerien champions AS FAN Niamey and Guinean giants Horoya AC.

Haruna Attiku, Daniel Sosah, Solomon Alorwordor and Alfred Kumah saw match actions for AS FAN Niamey.

But Nuhu Salifu was an unused substitute.

Sebe Baffour enjoyed 90 minutes for the Guinean champions but Brefo Mensah warmed the bench

Sousa bagged the consolation goal for the Nigerien side as they lost 3-1 at home to Horoya AC.

Former Black Stars midfielder Edwin Gyimah was on the bench when Bidvest Wits recorded a 2-0 win over Mauritanian outfit Pamplemousses in the CAF Champions League.

In Kenya on Sunday, Isaac Oduro and Prince Papa Arkoh enjoyed 90 minutes for hosts AFC Leopards in their 1-1 stalemate by continental debutants Fosa Juniors from Madagascar.

Nana Akosah-Bempah scored in the 85th minute to give Cape Town City FC a victory in their first ever continental fixture when they Young Buffaloes in Swaziland in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Former Hearts of Oak striker Kwame Kizito lasted 69 minutes for Al Ittihad Tripoli against Nigerien outfit Sahel SC on Saturday.

The Libyan giants were 1-0 victors with a late goal.

Daniel Adjei Boateng saw all 90 minutes for the away side.

Kwasi Asante and James Agyekum Kotei lasted the entire duration for Tanzanian heavyweights Simba SC who run riot over minnows Gerndamerie of Djibouti with an emphatic 4-0 win.

Central defender Richmond Opoku Manu played the entire 90 minutes when Africa Sports Abidjan drew 1-1 at home with Mauritanian outfit FC Nouadhibou.
