The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially confirmed that German-born forward Marvin Senaya has accepted an invitation to represent the Black Stars at the international level. The announcement comes as head coach Otto Addo finalizes preparations for upcoming friendlies against Austria and Germany in March 2026.
Senaya, a 23-year-old striker currently playing for Borussia Mönchengladbach’s reserve team, was born in Hamburg to a Ghanaian father and German mother. He has been in regular contact with GFA officials since late 2025, with discussions centered on his eligibility and potential impact on the national team.
“Marvin has accepted to play for us,” a GFA spokesperson confirmed. “We’ve had several conversations with his representatives, and he has shown a strong willingness to represent Ghana. His decision aligns with our goal of strengthening the squad with players who have international experience and a connection to the nation.”
The GFA is hopeful that Senaya’s inclusion will bolster the forward line ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
