Popular sports presenter, Saddick Adams aka Sports Obama, says former Ghana coach Avram Grant has caused financial loss to the nation.
Speaking on Atinka FM, Obama criticised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for supporting Avram Grant during his stay in Ghana.
“Avram Grant has seriously caused financial loss to the state. He could not fulfil all the conditions for which he was employed. He has brought Ghana football backwards. He inherited a good and solid team but look at the team he is leaving behind now?” he said.
“He was paid $50,000 every month, a suit was paid for at Alisa Hotel for him, but he never stayed in Ghana for more than a month. He only came to Ghana anytime we had a game. He did not monitor our league to be able to notice one or two talents. Grant also received winning bonuses and per diems, but he did not reciprocate all these gestures given him”, he added.
“Grant also proved that he lacked the necessary knowledge of the modern game. He did not help Ghana in any way”, Obama continued.
Avram Grant, after failing to meet the target set for him at the just-ended 2017 Afcon, resigned his post as Ghana’s head coach after a two-year stint.
