Ghana’s Midfielder, Frank Sarfo Gyamfi Terminates Maritzburg United contract

Ghana midfielder Frank Sarfo Gyamfi has terminated his contract with South Africa top-flight side Maritzburg United after two years stay at the Harry Gwala Stadium.
The 20-year-old widesman joined the club in 2012 from Wa All Stars in a three-year deal with two years option to extend it after a blistering performance in the Ghana top-flight league. He suffered a series of injuries which pushed him down the pecking order after the arrival of head coach Steve Komphela in January.
Gyamfi opted to sever ties mutually with his club, despite one year remaining and thus becomes a free agent. The speedster has praised everyone at the Pietermaritzburg-based club for their warm reception but still believes all is not over with his career, adding that he will overcome his troubles.
“I’ve terminated my contract with my team [Maritzburg United], but I will still play football because I’m now free from injuries,” Gyamfi revealed to Goal Ghana. “I’m still young so I just have to play week in and out to build and bring back my confidence and I believe I will bounce back in a grand style to achieve my set goals in football.”
He added: “I will like to thank the management, technical team, playing body and the supporters for their immense support throughout my stay with the club.”
Gyamfi is expected to travel to Ghana this week to plan for his next line of action.
