Ghana Football Association communications director Ibrahim Sannie Daara is unhappy with calls for the appointment of Maxwell Konadu as the Black Stars head coach, describing it as a “negative agenda”.
The former Kotoko boss became Ghana’s assistant in 2012, and following the recent departure of Avram Grant, Konadu has been named interim coach until a new man is appointed.
A six-man committee has been put in place to vet candidates for the vacant position.
“The committee will decide on whom to give the job and it’s not for us to decide,” Sannie told Class FM.
“We have given the job to a committee, so let’s allow the committee to work and stop dictating to them.
“It is also not good for us to take a unilateral decision and say because we have worked with Maxwell Konadu, he should coach the Black Stars.
“We want to be open with the search for a new coach.
“The committee is ready to take constructive ideas and criticism but will not tolerate the negative agenda of some people.”
The FA recently rubbished claims that 2017 Africa Cup of Nations winner Hugo Broos has been contacted for the role, having earlier dispelled rumours linking former France international Willy Sagnol to the job.
The committee, meanwhile, says all interested candidates should submit applications by Friday.
