There are clandestine attempts to get the aborted Premier League match between Elmina Sharks and Medeama re-played amid fears of a potential ‘blackmail’ of losing out on the sponsorship deal for the Women’s national league, GHANAsoccernet.com headquarters  understands.

GHANAsoccernet.com also understands the Match Commissioner has been reportedly forced to change his initial damning reports, miraculously claiming he was not present when the barbaric act took place- in what best passed as the biggest lie in the 21 century.

Credible sources at the FA have told Ghana’s leading football website that several attempts are being made by some top officials (names withheld for now) to get the aborted game re-played.

The Disciplinary Committee is yet to sit on the case but already plans have been put in motion to get the match re-played over fears headline sponsor of the National Women’s League -FreshPak- owned by Group Nduom, owner of Elmina Sharks could put an ice on their sponsorship for the women’s league-in a clear case of ‘blackmail’.

Sharks appear to be in hot waters after some of their thugs and goons physically attacked referee Nuhu Liman Yakubu, leading to the abrupt end of the game.

The Elmina-based side were caught in a big LIE after claiming the Wa-based referee ‘tripped and fell’ but the incontrovertible evidence from Medeama has exposed the club and  silenced the central regional-based side.

Sources say sensing they could be ducked maximum points, attempts are being made to ‘blackmail’ the FA into submission to allow for re-play when the laws are extremely clear in these circumstances.

Medeama want the law to apply without fear or favour or without who or which club is involved after the horrific episode at the Nduom stadium.

Sharks have also filed a counter protest many consider as weak amid widespread believe the 2016 CAF Confederation Cup campaigners are more likely to win the legal tussle.

GHANAsoccernet.com sources in Tarkwa indicates the Mauve and Yellows have vowed NEVER to replay the match as they feel anything short of attaining the maximum points will be a travesty of justice.

Critics have constantly argued nepotism, cronyism, clientelism and fragrant abuse of powers have deepened cracks and mistrust – leading to several litigations in the Ghanaian top-flight.

Many Ghanaians have been shocked the Nduom stadium remains ‘unlocked’ weeks after the earth-shattering horrific incident at the venue.

It’s in sharp contrast to the action of the Ghana FA who immediately handed Berekum Chelsea a three-home match ban after some irate fans attacked same referee Nuhu Liman.

It’s a massive test case for the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA, who are expected to adjudicate on the matter.
