Frustrated Wilfred Palmer Blasts ‘CRIMINAl’ CARA Club Supporters After Asante Kotoko Africa Exit

Wilfred Osei Palmer, who is the leader of delegation for Asante Kotoko vented his frustration over the treatment they received at hands of CARA Club supporters ahead their second leg clash against the Congolese side in the CAF Confederation Cup competition.

Report from Congo indicated that the playing body of Asante Kotoko, officials and Ghanaian journalists who travelled with the team were brutally manhandled in Congo Brazzaville ahead of the side’s  CAF’s second-tier club competition match against CARA Brazzaville.

The reports further suggested that Porcupine Warriors were halted from holding out their one hour mandatory training session a day before the clash by irate supporters of the Congolese outfit.

And the leader of the team’s delegation to Congo, Osei Palmer, who is also an executive member of the Ghana Football Association, could not comprehend the actions of the home fans but says they have officially lodged complaint to CAF to incarcerate the club.

“It’s very traumatic with our experience in Congo, how do you allow people who are criminals to parade themselves as football supporters and take advantage of situations,” Osei Palmer told Oyerepa FM’s rep in Congo, Clement Owusu.

“Look at the attack on Issa Amadou, Kotoko’s equipment officer, it was uncalled for but surprisingly after winning, all these ceased and it should tell us they are not football minded people, is it the way that they cheat that’s why they have 2 more slot, I can’t think far.”

“For a leader of delegation to sit in the stands to watch the match, I believe CAF should not take this lightly. We have reported to them and will strongly follow it up as an FA, we have pictures to support all these,” he added.

“I think Africa should live above all these, football should unite us not to disband us.”

The Reds are due to arrive in Ghana on Thursday afternoon.
