Samuel Afful’s second half strike was cancelled out by Amos Frimpong to maintain Kotoko’s fine record at Hasaacas. The Porcupines have now not lost away against Hasaacas in seven games.

The home team made a positive start, attacking jittery Kotoko in droves. And were unlucky to fetch the opening goal before the half hour mark as they fluffed a couple of great opportunities. Porcupine warriors’ goalie Felix Annan made a terrific save in the 12th minute before Amuzu squandered a 1v1 after ghosting past center back Evans Quao.

With Hasaacas still pressing for the opener, Frank Sarfo Gyamfi missed a sitter after a sweet build up. Then after Kotoko found their rhythm, dictating play and causing the defence of Hasaacas problems.

Twice veteran goalkeeper George Owu was called into action and he did not disappoint.

First repelling a curling effort from Eric Donkor before denying Dauda Mohammed a rare goal with a good save as the first half ended barren.

Hasaacas continued to be the better side after the break with Kotoko on the back foot. But Felix Annan stood between them and a goal, saving some murky situations. Hasaacas though had a penalty appeal waved away by referee Awal Mohammed.

Annan appeared to have fouled speedy winger Ebo Duncan while tipping the ball away in the box but referee adjudged it to be corner kick.

Hasmal finally took the lead through Samuel Afful in the 74th minute.

Eric Bekoe and Ebo Duncan combined well to set up Afful with the latter beating Annan. But Amos Frimpong for the umpteenth time this season scored a penalty two minutes later to cancel out the lead.

Both teams went in search for the winning goal with Kotoko having most of the ball. But none were able to find it as the referee brought proceedings to an end.

The result meant Kotoko remain unchanged on the table, fourth, however now four points adrift of league leaders All Stars. Hasaacas also still find themselves in the relegation zone.
