The nation’s football governing body and Great Olympics are locked in a legal tussle after the latter placed a court injunction on the start of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League following protest against Bechem United for fielding an unqualified player against them last term.

With the start of the league unknown, clubs have resorted to playing friendly matches to keep their teams in perfect shape.

Several clubs engaged in friendlies last weekend and more have been lined up this weekend as they continue to sharpen their rough edges before their opening matches.

However, deputy FC Nordsjaelland coach, Didi Dramani has warned clubs against playing too many friendly games as he believes could have adverse effect on their players when the season takes off.

“Clubs should be careful they don’t over and under train their players, this is a reason my stay at Kotoko was not successful,” Didi told Oyerepa FM from his base in Denmark.

“I played close to 34 friendlies and still the league didn’t start which caused us not to perform well during the season. To the coach of a club like Kotoko where much is expected, he should be careful with the kind of training he takes the players through,” he added.

“If this thing of Ghana league delaying doesn’t stop, we will not see the best in our teams and our players even though Ghana habours talents of many kinds.”
