The veteran football manager recently left his job as head Coach of Egyptian Premier League side Petrojet after their League defeat to Nasr Lel Taa’dee.

Shehata is undoubtedly the most successful Coach on the continent having led the Egyptian National team to three Cup of Nations title.

According to the 69-year-old, he was close to securing the Black Stars job only for the deal to hit a snag.

“I don’t think about retirement. I have received offers from the Nigerian and Ghanaian national teams, but the negotiations have broken down,” Shehata is quoted by Egyptian website Kingfut.

“I want to take a break until the end of the season after leaving Petrojet. I have several offers from African and Arab national teams, but I will not reveal them now,” he added.

The renowned football Coach has managed top Egyptian Clubs like Zamalek, El Shourta and El Mokawloon.

He also handled Qatari Club Al-Arabi and Al-Ahly Benghazi in Libya.

The Ghana Football Association reappointed Kwesi Appiah as the Black Stars Coach to succeed Avram Grant who left after failing to help the team win the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
