Group Chief Executive Officer of Databank Group, Kojo Addae-Mensah has blamed President John Dramani Mahama for the Black stars slim chances of qualifying to the FIFA 2018 world cup in Russia.
In an interview with Kasapa Sports, Kojo Addae-Mensah conceded Ghana’s chances look bleak and will take something spectacular to secure a World Cup ticket to Russia 2018 and added if the first gentle man of the land, had stepped in to settle the rift between the GFA and the Ministry of Youth and Sports [ MoYS], Ghana would have started the 2018 WC campaign well.
“In 2013, when the Ayew brothers were at loggerheads with the Coach of the Black Stars (Kwesi Appiah) , the President quickly stepped in to resolve the issue, and that was player-coach conflict yet the president found it necessary to step in, but this time you have a whole minister and the FA Capo at loggerheads, and the president failed to step in? I can’t understand why, because it is such an important thing to qualify for the world cup. It is now too late, I am worried because if the President had stepped in to resolve the conflict, we wouldn’t have been here”, he said.
Ghana is placed 3rd in Group E of the World Cup qualifiers, five points behind Egypt and three behind second place Uganda with Congo sitting bottom with no point.
