Black Maidens coach Evans Adotey says they will go for the kill against Djibouti in the second leg of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier.
The Maidens walloped Djibouti 9-0 in the first leg of the qualifier courtesy goals from Suzzy Dede Teye, a hat-trick from Mukarama Abdulai, as well as goals from Abigail Tutuwaa, Jacqueline Owusu, Fuseina Mumuni, Milot Abena Pokuaa and Adama Alhassan.
Despite holding a healthy advantage ahead of the return leg, Coach Adotey says they will not take their foot off pedal as they aim to finish the game with a flourish.
“That won’t happen as we intend to send the clear signals to all our opponents that we mean business in this qualifying campaign,” Adotey told Graphic Sports.
“We went into the game not knowing what to expect, but we had a game plan and executed if despite the difference in experience between the two sides.”
“In the second leg, they may come with the plan of not conceding more, but we are hungry for goals and we will go all out. The first leg result, will have no effect on the second leg at all. We will take each game as it comes.”
The Maidens, bronze medalists in the 2012 U-17 World Cup, are in search for their sixth successive ticket to this year’s competition to be held in Uruguay.
