Former FA Cup Committee chairman, J. Y. Appiah, has heap praises Bechem United for winning the MTN FA Cup trophy and urged them to make the Ghana proud when they participate in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup competition.
Bechem United defeated Division One club, Okwawu United, 2-1 to lift this year’s MTN FA Cup in a fiercely-contested final at the Cape Coast Stadium last Sunday.
Mr. Appiah also congratulated Bechem United president, Kingsley Owusu Achau, for bringing the club this far by giving Brong Ahafo Region its first MTN FA Cup trophy.
Speaking to Graphic Sports in an interview, Mr Appiah said, “They have really done a great job by winning the competition which will help strengthen Brong Ahafo regional football.”
“I thank Mr Achau for bringing the team this far by winning Brong Ahafo its first FA Cup trophy.
“One thing they must remember is the fact that they must make the nation proud when they participate in Africa”. He asdded.
Bechem United will represent Ghana in Africa next year and have already signed former Kotoko striker, Ahmed Toure, to boost their chances in the campaign.
