According to sources in the North African country, the Egyptian football regulatory body has received hateful messages from fans who are planning to attack the former Chelsea manager.

The angry fans, who hold a distaste for Israel nationals due to ages old rivalry between Arabic and Israeli people, are asking the Egyptian authorities to block Avram Grant from entering the country.

A member of the Egypt FA has revealed his outfit has picked up information about fans who have elaborated plans to harass and taunt the coach from his arrival at the airport until he leaves the country.

“They plan to hurt him with several attacks of chants and rude to him and they want him not come into Egypt land because people don’t like him around,” a source told Ghanaian online portal Sports Obama.

Israelis are not welcomed in most Arab countries but the former West Ham United manager who guided Ghana to a silver medal place at the 2015 AFCON holds a Polish passport and would not have difficulties in going through formalities on arrival and carrying out his work with the Black Stars.

However, the latest hate against Grant appears to have emanated from his comments earlier when he suggested that Alexandria was unsafe for the clash and called for the game to be played on a neutral grounds.

The Egypt FA has confirmed the Group E clash will come off at the 75,000-capacity Borg Al Arab Stadium in Alexandria with the country’s interior ministry announcing that the stadium will be opened to full capacity.
