Adjah Tetteh Bewails Hearts of Oak Nine-Year Trophy Dry Spell

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder dynamo Lawrence Adjah Tetteh has bemoaned the club’s nine-year trophy drought.

The vociferous supporters of the Phobians have had to endure a dry trophy spell for the past nine years, having won the league title nine times in the last twenty years during the golden era of the club.

And according to Tetteh, who was instrumental in the side’s six consecutive league title dominance as well as their CAF Champions League triumph in the year 2000, was hurt by the club’s inability to lift a major laurel in nine-years but believes they can turn the tide around in the future.

“I am very sad that the team has not won the league in almost a decade,” Tetteh told Zylofon FM.

“But the performances has been improving in the last few years,” he added.

“To me there has been some difficulties, there has been problems for the club but I believe the team will be successful this year.”

The Ghana Premier League is yet to start following a court injunction, but the team that finished runner up last season in the FA Cup look poised for a better season.

Hearts finished 3rd in the league last term.
