Maxwell Konadu, the Assistant Coach of the Black Stars, has said that the playing body has put behind them the social media gaffe by number one goalkeeper Razak Braimah and is poised to secure victory over Cameroon on Thursday to progress to the finals of the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Gabon.

“A lot of things have gone on in the past few days with regards to that issue but the most important thing is that the player has apologised and we have forgiven him.

“The players are calm in camp and are focused on the game against Cameroon and looking forward to progress to the next stage of the competition” Coach Konadu stated at a pre-match conference on Wednesday.

Coach Konadu said they have been in the last four of the competition since 2008 and therefore the only thing that will pacify them is the trophy.

“The only thing we are looking for is the trophy because we have over the years failed to win despite being in the last four of every competition.

“We are aware of the quality of Cameroon, though most of their experienced players could not make it into this competition; they have presented a lot of young and talented players.

“Our players are willing to die for the nation and we are taking each match at a time so we are determined to beat them on Thursday,” he said at the press conference.

Ghana will take on Cameroon in the second semi- final game on Thursday at the Renovation Stadium.

It would be recalled that Ghana lost by a lone goal to Cameroon in the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Ghana in the semi- finals at the Accra Sports Stadium.
