Ghana’s two dancehall rivals, Shatta Wale and Samini, finally made a surprise appearance together on stage at this year’s Saminifest, which took place over the weekend.
This was to prove to their fans that they have put the past behind them and are focused on preaching peace as the country goes to the polls.
Shatta Wale had expressed readiness to perform with Samini only if he received invitation.
Fliers started circulating on social media a few days to the event indicating that Shatta Wale was billed to perform at the event but the claim was rubbished by his management, who described it as unfortunate and very unprofessional.
Shatta Wale, however, showed up and performed with Samini to give patrons a wonderful experience.
The two artistes had been at each other’s throat over who is indeed the ‘Dancehall King’ and have on several occasions thrown jabs at each other in songs, on social media and in interviews.
