The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nabdam and former Minister for the Upper East Region, Boniface Gambila Adagbila, has expressed his surprise about two “unknown truths” to Ghanaians from President John Dramani Mahama’s address to Parliament on Thursday.

According to the MP, Ghanaians were told by John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that 123 community day schools has been built but, on the contrary,  the president in his State of the Nation Address on Thursday on the floor of the house of representatives said it is rather 47.

Secondaly, he said, all along Ghanaians never heard anywhere during the campaign period that the late Prof. Atta Mills had constructed any infrastructure, “but today we are being told by John Mahama that Kotokoraba Market was constructed under Prof.  Atta Mills”.

The MP told Onua 95.1 FM in an interview after the address that not only is he surprised but also disappointed in the president.

He accused President Mahama of not mentioning any social intervention his government tackled during his tenure in office.

According to the former minister, one distinguishing feature of governments is policies they bring on board peculiar to the normal basic infrastructure.

That he says is the difference and a mark of a visionary leader.

Mr Adagbila is optimistic that an Akufo-Addo-led government before its assumption into office has outlined policies and interventions like ‘One village-One dam’ and ‘One district One factory’ to tackle.

Referring to a portion of the President’s address, he noted that John Mahama acknowledged that Former President Jerry Rawlings brought the economic adjustment program just as Former President John Kufuor also initiated NHIS,  Mass Transport, School Feeding Programme and the like.

He explained that all that President Mahama had mentioned in his address are the basic responsibility of all regimes, saying successive governments have all at one time built schools, hospitals and roads.
