Three Reasons To Keep Living

Some will even blame God for their suffering. Quite a number also resort to suicidal means. But research has shown that most people who try to kill themselves do not really want to end their life; they merely want to end their suffering. Thus, suicide becomes a permanent solution to their temporary problem. When faced with difficulty, it is important to take time to reflect on how far you have come and count your blessings. There are three reasons why you must keep living.

Everything that has a beginning has an end. Every problem has a limited life span.  What you are going through has an expiry date. Storms will always give way to the sun. Don’t give up. You may not know how close you are to your breakthrough. During your adversity, take up challenging things to keep your mind under control. Learn a new hobby, play your favourite sport, read a new book, develop your personal relationship with God and pray. All these will give you a solid footing to prevent you from engaging in negative lifestyles.

There is help for you. The Bible offers great help to those who read it. Counsellors also offer professional help. Contrary to what is said that a problem shared is a problem solved, sometimes the worst place to seek refuge is in the lion’s den. Don’t be quick to share your problems. Always use your intuition to discern whether a person has good or bad intentions for you. Be patient with yourself. Seek help from the right places, perhaps in a good book.

There is hope for the living. God kept you alive for His purpose. At times our problems seem to fill earth and sky. But no pain lasts forever. Hold on. Your life will become a light for someone else’s pathway if you survive the tough times. You may not be able to control what happens to you, but you can control how you react to your situation. Be positive. Take one day at a time. The very day you lose hope, you stop existing. Don’t lose hope.
