Traders in Cape Coast hoping for good sales as Christmas approaches say sales have been slow but are optimistic it might pick up as the yuletide hits the climax.
They attributed the slow in sales to the fact that most workers were yet to break and shop for the Christmas holidays.
A visit to one of the biggest markets in the Central Region, the Kotokuraba market in Cape Coast, revealed that some traders are yet to meet their expectations of high sales.
Dealers in spices and oil are also hoping to cash in within the period.
Adjoa Baby who trades in spices and rice noted that the prices of some items have remained stable whiles some have dropped.
For some buyers who spoke to TV3, prices of items on the market are moderate.
Vegetable sellers also told us their prices are relatively moderate and are optimistic of high sales.
Traders who deal in frozen chicken and fish say they have also made prices moderate to attract buyers.
At the meat market, a pound of goat, sheep or cow goes for 10 cedis which sellers say it is very moderate for many.
But poultry sellers at the Kotokuraba market are not happy with sales so far. One of the sellers, Yaro attributes this to where they are located at the kotokuraba market.
Meanwhile, the traders are hoping sales will pick up significantly from Frida.
