A Vote For Me Equals Doing God’s Will – Mahama

Presidential Candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Dr Edward Nasigre Mahama says his sixth position on the 2016 electoral ballot is symbolic for many reasons.

One of these reasons, he explained, is that God used six days to complete creation.

Therefore, he suggested, voting for the sixth candidate on the ballot will be bringing to power the man destined to complete God’s will for Ghana.

“When you go to the polls, when you vote Edward Mahama, you are doing God’s will.”

Dr Mahama made this inference on Tuesday, November 22 during the first presidential debate of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA).

He was at the high table together with Progressive People’s Party’s Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom and Independent Candidate Jacob Osei Yeboah.

Dr Mahama said even the Big Six knew aforetime that he will be the savior of Ghana.

“My candidature has been approved by the Big Six.”

He added that since the sixth day of March in 1957 was agreed upon for the independence of Ghana, a vote for him as the sixth candidate on the ballots will be in fulfillment of a difference independence – economic independence.

The five-time presidential candidate said even though he has not won elections in Ghana, his contributions cannot be glossed over as his ideas such as the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has been of benefit to Ghanaians.

Dr Mahama began his presidential ambition in 1996, when he contested sitting president Jerry John Rawlings together with New Patriotic Party’s John Agyekum Kufuor.

“Of the three people God chose in 1996, I am the only one you have not tried,” he appealed to voters.

He said Mr Rawlings was voted for that year while Mr Kufuor was voted for in the following elections in 2000.

He, therefore, asked Ghanaians to try him this year, the 20th year since his first contest.
