Lesson from the Scripture; 1Cor. 13:1
Love is not in Speech; the fact that someone claims to love you does not mean he/she loves you. There are people who can vocalise love, they can so convince you that they are in love with you so as to get you in bed. I heard of a man who went to the extent of marrying a lady just so he can have sex with her and divorce her; obviously this man will present himself as someone who loves the lady and interestingly, the beginning of every relationship is sweet and lovely, even our relationship with Christ. But how well you are able to maintain that love and help it grow is the most important thing and we must understand that the mere fact that someone proposes loves to you does not necessary mean they love you; some do it for fun.
Don’t always think ups and downs are necessary in a relationships; they occur because of an error. If you eliminate the error (which many think you can’t because we are humans) you will enjoy your relationship. There are several people who are in pains today, because they were deceived by the sweet words of those they thought loved them.
I love you is so common these days that its value or its authenticity is being questioned. Love has been expressed in verbal form (written or sweet talks) and unfortunately many have entered into relationships because someone who may not have even meant it said, “The first time i setted my eyes on you, everything within me testified to the fact that am in love with you”. Like seriously? You fall for that without testing the persons love? Sure, love can be tested and we will be looking at that in the concluding chapters.
Am not in anyway against love at first sight, But hey, love at first sight is mostly expressed for the outward expression, in other words the person may have fallen for you because of your beauty or voice. Unfortunately beauty does not grow love, it doesnt matter whether or not you are beautiful or handsome; what matters is how well you both can manage your character. You may fall in love with the beauty of the person, but will never stay with the beauty of the person but rather the Character of the person.
