The Role Of “Babies With Sharp Teeth” In Mahama’s Twilight

At long last the battle has ended without a villain. Ghana has indeed won the epic battle. Ghanaians are the ultimate victors.

Let us therefore extol President Mahama and the President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo for their great sense of patriotism, solicitudes and unparalleled predilection towards Ghana.

Let me however quickly add that I am a proud and an unrepentant critic of President Mahama. Yes, I have no regrets for throwing my support behind the President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo and inexorably highlighting the negative effects of President Mahama’s coarse governance.

Of course, to relentlessly write and shout about the sorrowful state of Ghana’s economy which the NDC apologists strangely perceive as a benign or a convivial issue, is to be regarded as a political extremist, or even as a radical conservative, who is aiming to discredit their beloved government, but we must be true to the faith, uphold and defend the good name of our beloved Ghana.

For it goes without saying that the good people of Ghana have witnessed so much duplicities, corruption, incompetence, nepotism, cronyism and frequent abuse of power in the NDC government. Hence the vast majority of Ghanaians have lost trust in President Mahama and his government.

It is pretty obvious that President Mahama and his laid-back appointees have wilfully collapsed Ghana’s economy, yet President Mahama and his apologists would keep trumpeting their vague rhetoric , political insobrieties and meaningless slogans-‘Mahama Tuaso’; ‘We care for you’; ‘people matter, you matter’; ‘we are transforming lives’.

Amazingly, President Mahama and his NDC apparatchiks kept trumpeting better Ghana agenda and unprecedented achievements, meanwhile the good people of Ghana are struggling to pay their utility bills and could not even afford their children school fees.

It is, however, worth mentioning that as Africans, our conducts are guided by the majoritarian African culture of respect, thus, in Ghana, one must always show deference at all times in order not to upset the bromidic African culture of respect.

It would thus come across as ingratitude when an elected president and his appointees ungraciously choose to chastise the same people who gave them the electoral mandate for expressing their grievances over the issues that affect their lives.

Truly, the NDC ‘Babies with sharp teeth’ would insult every Ghanaian that complains about their laissez faire style of leadership. The discourteous NDC brats did not even spare their party founder Rawlings for voicing his opinion over the rampant sleaze and corruption in the current NDC administration.

Yes, the ill-bred apologists have been castigating their founder Rawlings for expressing his disgust over the rot in his party. In fact, Rawlings had previously voiced out his opinion over the insulting behaviour of the NDC brats.

For example, Rawlings lividly said during the NDC’s 2012 National Congress: “Mr. President, fellow Ghanaians it is said that we should not throw out the baby with the bath water, but what we do when some of the babies in the tub are babies with hard teeth, biting and spewing some very horrible invectives? Should they not be lowered out with the dirty water? After all one bad nut is all it takes to spoil the taste in your mouth.

“When we find ourselves at a wooden bridge with some planks rotten, do we wait to get new planks before removing the rotten ones or do we remove the rotten ones immediately” (JJ Rawlings, August 30, 2012).

The NDC ‘Babies with sharp teeth’ disgustingly abused the then flagbearer of the NPP Party and the President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo day in and day out. They spewed all sort of lies about the eminent lawyer. The good people of Ghana somehow became fed-up with the needless abuse the uncouth NDC apologists were directing towards the indefatigable Nana Akufo-Addo.

Ironically, President Mahama claims to be a humble leader, a very patient leader, a tolerant leader. Yet it was the same President Mahama who lividly told Dr Bawumiah, the NPP’s presidential running mate for 2016 general election to shut up and cease criticising him (Mahama) because he (Bawumiah) has not been a president before.

Strangely, however, the much touted humble, patient and tolerant President Mahama was reported to have told the people of Ashanti Region that they are ungrateful and would never be appreciative even if all their roads are constructed with gold.

Again, the holier-than-thou President Mahama refer to Ashantis as useless lots who are incapable of pronouncing words that have letters ‘L and R. The people of Ashanti Region ineffaceably stencilled such unnecessary comment at the back of their heads and waited for an appropriate time to express their arousing disgust. Indeed, the right time was 7th December 2016.

On 7th December 2016, the good people of Ghana remembered the day when the humble, patient and tolerant President Mahama told them to cease their useless discussions over the suitable burial place of our departed former President Mills.

The good people of Ghana also recalled how the holier-than-thou President Mahama went about frolicking by giving needless epithet to the then flagbearer of the NPP Party and the President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo and the acting chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay. Indeed, President Mahama sarcastically referred to the gentlemen as ‘OPANA’, (literally means ‘trouble maker’).

Besides, whenever the good people of Ghana express their doubts over the much touted numerous infrastructural projects, the humble, patient and tolerant President Mahama and his vociferous communicators would reply: “It is only those that are blind that do not see the good work of the NDC government.”

As a matter of fact, the good people of Ghana stencilled the gratuitous attacks on their mental sheets and waited for an opportune time to teach the clamorous NDC ‘Babies with sharp teeth’ a great lesson.

And, who said that 7th December 2016 was not the auspicious time for the good people of Ghana to vent their spleen on the disrespectful brats?
