Shame That Ghana Abounds In Fair Weather Friends

When it comes to our political democratic dispensation and practices, one will realise that Ghana is shamefully overflowing with, or full to the brim with, fair weather friends. Some people for what they will get as individuals, hopefully aspiring to acquire illegal riches through their affiliations to or associations to political parties, decide to register with more than one political party as a member at a time.

Some people may hold NPP membership cards and at the same time NDC party’s card. When NPP comes to power, they are NPP members by the presentation of the party’s membership card and the vice versa when NDC comes to power. These people are crooks who walk with their stomachs hence fitting well into the description of fair weather friends.

When NPP loses elections, they immediately instantly overturn their coat and become enemies of NPP. They go with the party in government by the proof of the ruling party’s membership card they hold on to. When, say, NDC loses power as they have done now, they switch back to NPP.

Why can’t they be principled and truthful to themselves and their country by believing in one party they knowingly see as the better option to get the country out of her miseries, but do allow the pangs of hunger and their insatiable quest for wealth to dictate to them?

There is nothing wrong about voting for a different party during elections other than your own party of which you hold a membership card if your party’s policies and mode of deliverance on their promises are found to be wanting and corrupt. However, to hold two different parties’ membership cards to keep switching to whichever one comes to power for the reason of what you think to stand to get to enrich yourself is what I am against. These are the fair weather friends that I hate with passion. They are wicked and criminals although they cannot be arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to terms of months or years in prison.

Being a principled person, I have always stood and fought the corner of Nana Akufo Addo, now President Akufo Addo, because I could see the good quality of how he cares about the collective interests of Ghanaians in him. Now, he has won the election and I shall still stand by him to succeed as the President who delivered on all his promises to the benefit of all Ghanaians.

We want principled persons but not the types of fair weather friends who run away when there is a trouble and you really need them.

From the internet, let me quote to explain what I mean by fair weather friends. I hope detractors will not accuse me of plagiarism and even if they do, do they think I care? I don’t give a darn!

“A fair weathered friend is a person who only sticks around for the good times in fair weather. They are not close friends, they are friends that only stick with you through the good times and are not there for you for the tough and rough times. These people are not loyal”

From SearchQuotes from the internet, “There’s a point in life when you get tired of chasing everyone and trying to fix everything, but it’s not giving up, it’s realizing that you don’t need certain people and their crap. Sometimes you have to distance yourself from people that only call when they need something. Fair weather friends only want to come around when they need your sun to shine on their dark and gloomy days. In the end, you’ll realize you only have a few true friends. But that’s better than having many fake ones”. These are the internet explanations by some people.

All these fair weather friends of whom the Managing Director of the Tema Development Corporation is one and has been exposed, are to mend their bad selfish ways. He will not be spared my cracking whip regardless of what he thinks. We have had enough of these political rogues who think the world belongs to them and that they can fool about; get away with blue murder when their party comes to power.

I am working on gathering more vital information on some ghost names on our public payroll system. I shall publish them once they are compiled. We shall not sit down for some thieves supported by some government functionaries and public sector directors and top persons to continue to dupe the nation.

If you hate me for being of honest service to the people of Ghana and my country Ghana, it is your cup of tea.

We are solidly behind President Akufo Addo and NPP to succeed in delivering Ghanaians from their economic hardships.
