Re: It Is Wrong To Describe Mahama As Incompetent

I read President Mahama’s self-styled publicist, Dele Momodu’s weird commendations about President Mahama with extreme puzzled countenance, I must admit.

The publisher of the Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu, insists that it is wrong for the opposition New Patriotic Party to tag President John Dramani Mahama as an incompetent president (See: ‘It is wrong to describe Mahama as incompetent’-Dele Momodu; ultimatefmonline.com/ghanaweb.com, 25/10/2016).

“He maintains that the President has proven beyond reasonable doubts he is more than capable and therefore is not enthused personally when members of the opposition NPP continue to tag him as incompetent”.

In fact, Dele Momodu cannot be serious for insisting that President Mahama has proven to be a competent leader and therefore he cannot hide his arousing disgust for those who describe Mahama as incompetent president.

May I ask Dele Momodu: Which competent leader on this planet would sit idly and watch obstreperous illegal miners seize its country side and despoil its natural resources?

Dele Momodu should answer: how can a supposedly competent leader look on unperturbed and allow the contumacious illegal miners seize our rural areas, forcibly dig our gold, destroy the environment and worst of all, terrorise the rural dwellers?

Dele Momodu, a carefully considered reflection by any serious, competent and committed leadership will acknowledge exactly why the illegal miners activities in our rural areas must be thwarted without delay.

“President Mahama is overly competent…the opposition should find a different adjective to describe him rather than incompetent. This is the man who is respected by other African countries and gets standing ovation where ever he goes.

Dele Momodu, do you call a president whose priorities include ‘one Chief one Land Cruiser competent? Respectfully, it is only a ‘nodding yes man or woman’ who would blindly sing praises of such an uncaring president.

Dele Momodu, in Ghana today, the vast majority of Ghanaians are facing extreme economic hardships, and in your wisdom, the best the so-called competent president could do is to share cars among greedy Chiefs?

Dele Momodu, what sort of competent president that inherits an economic growth of around 14 per cent and incredibly dragged it back to around 4 per cent? Do you call such a president competent?

Dele Momodu, which competent president can inherit a blossoming GDP of around $47billion in 2011 and fantastically reversed it to $40billion? What sort of competence is that?

Dele Momodu, do you call a president who takes over an agricultural growth of around 7.4 per cent in 2011 and woefully drags it back to 2.4 percent as of September 2016 as competent?

“Chief Dele Momodu said he has a mandate as a development journalist to promote Africa and give credit where it is due.

Dele Momodu, I have no problem with your mandate to promote Africa. However, in your haste to give credit where it’s due, you must also try and exercise some level of objectivity.

Dele Momodu, how can a self-acclaimed ‘Police’ like you, be so oblivious to all the happenings in contemporary Ghana?

Dele Momodu, do you want to tell the good people of Ghana that you are not aware of the stiff utility bills, including electricity, water and gas?

What about the high fuel prices, Dele Momodu? Please, for God sake, stop taking Ghanaians for granted with your vague rhetoric and political inebriations.

“To this end, he said president Mahama over the period has paraded one of the best hospitals in Africa and has done exceedingly well that he should be given another term to govern the country.

Dele Momodu, so do you think governance is all about putting up social infrastructure and amenities? No, governance goes beyond the erection of infrastructural projects.

Besides, Dele Momodu, President Mahama inherited a total debt of GH9.5billion, and has since increased our debt to a staggering GH110billion as of September 2016.

Dele Momodu, it is said: “To whom much is given, much is expected”.

So do not get carried away with President Mahama’s so-called numerous infrastructural projects. You, Dele Momodu, being an African vigilante, should rather enquire about the costs of such projects, for the good people of Ghana want to know.

“He indicates that he cannot determine for voters who should be their president but said Mahama stands tall if the December 7 polls is going to be based on performance stating that others get jealous on such successes.

Obviously, Dele Momodu, you cannot determine for discerning Ghanaians who they should elect in the forthcoming general election because you are not fit to do so.

Indeed, you have no clue what the ordinary Ghanaian is going through in President Mahama’s Ghana else, you would not be singing his praises.

Apparently, it is because of so-called senior citizens of Africa like Dele Momodu, who have been needlessly holding back our advancement with their voracious actions and inactions. Such characters are indeed selfish and must not be taken seriously.

“I want Ghanaians to be proud of what the country has achieved under President John Dramani Mahama. Even though the Ovation Magazine has no a mandate to ask Ghanaians to vote for the NDC and Mahama, he has a good track record to be mandated another term in office”.

Dele Momodu; let me remind you that we volitionally take part in elections in expectation that our lives would be transformed positively.

So, the all-important question is: have the lives of Ghanaians been transformed positively under President Mahama and his NDC government?

Well, Dele Momodu, the good people of Ghana will answer the preceding question on 7th December 2016.
