I have been beckoned into serious qualms as a true citizen of Ghana but wish to first cease this opportunity to congratulate you on your election as the president of our republic. Congratulations for making history as the second Akuffo Addo to have risen through the ranks to occupy the highest seat in Ghana’s history. You have seemingly made the high office a monarchy.

More on that, I applaud you again for remaining focused in naming your apparatchiks as cabinet ministers in spite of the numerous castigations from Ghanaians.

Mr President, I deem it a privilege one in a lifetime to write to you drawing the attention of your high office to some of your policies which are likely to meet the displeasure of some Voltarians, I mean the reorganization of the Volta is likely to cause disaffection among some Voltarians home and abroad.

Having been glued to one of my life time principles that says “without revolution, development cannot be a fundamental pride of any group of people or nation”, we must equally be circumspect in the type of revolutionary decisions we make since the core motive of development may not be achieved but the adverse.

Mr President, I vividly recall a couple of months ago how in your promulgations you promised the good people of the Western region a split in region which you were able to justify for which course they massively endorsed your candidature but not the angelic Voltarians. An attempt to split the Volta region will eventually turn the peace and unity of the people to land (territorial) disputes, chieftaincy problems and other resources into mayhem centers.

Mr President, if by your conviction and intentions you wish to use the split to expedite development within the region, then I trust our local government structure which you are resolute to strengthening is more than enough to execute your true vision.

Mr President, kindly permit me to use this space to brief you on the origin of the ewes and why it will be unnecessary to split them within a twinkle of an eye.

There are many different schools of thought about their origin with a school of thought tracing it’s origin as far back as an earlier settlement in Adzatome, a suburb founded by Ham, the second son of Noah in the Bible: Noah being the progenitor of various tribes. It’s there we learnt about the famous biblical story of the building of tower of Babel to enable the people get closer to God, see him and pray to him.

Another school of thought has it’s trace to the famous King Agokoli 1 of Notsie (the present day Togo) where the ewes made the most important step into the future by walking backwards out of the thick Notsie walls after years of leadership unrest.

The Dagbos as they were then called had to part ways at midnight through a secret opening in the Great walls to proceed towards freedom for a considerable distance from Agokoli.

The journey this far hasn’t been easy hence the good people deserves nothing but the best of democratic governance and peaceful geographical settlement as they are enjoying now.

With this few enlightenment, I will however plead with you not to avail yourself as a vessel of destruction to these people with rich solid history unabated.

I still can’t imagine how families, clans, communities etc with same origin will have to part ways all in the name of regional reorganization.

Mr President, posterity will not take it kindly with you if these monstrosities commences under your leadership.

Ghanaians cried for change but remember not all changes are monumental to societal development.

On this regards, I pray you to continue to make God’s word the standard for your administration for it’s on such wheels that you can make Ghana work again as you have always asserted.
