Drop after drop, the young lad sobbed
Sobbing he did, not as for fancy or leisure; but rather, as a dutiful gesture
Having been preyed by the golden caves of achievement, so determined was this soul to brace up for the gold-diggers race
“To be or not to be”, the reckless souls dilemma
“To be, better than to seem to be”, the heckless mans cinema
And so, having rightfully chosen the latter of two, drop by drop, pant by pant, the blood dropped; dribbling down the path of the veins and gently making its abode on the lonely ground
“Accursed is he” some of the religious folks said!
“The similitude of heavens judgment visited on a reprobate”, others who were more academically inclined claimed
And yet still, few more moderate ones said “due o due”; “kpoo oo, Kpoo oo”
While all expressed the arms of multifaceted care, none clearly understood the nature of the condition beheld; nor the import thereof! Even sadder it was that, none sought to inquire, nor did any of same care to exonerate
Meanwhile, the blame could hardly be leveled to the doorsteps of these onlookers; for barely had they endeavored to entertain the luring music of fate, or to be hosted as honorary guests at the banquette of necessity
For at a dinner with destiny, where TIME serves as waiter and SPACE as chief Chef, the only words heard whispered (by song and by letters) are simply “NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD”
For the only currency worth something in the stock exchange of life is “BLOOD”
“Nothing But The BLOOD”
…because the merchants of life tolerate nothing, EXCEPT THAT WHICH IS STAINED BY BLOOD!!!
