An Interesting Travel Experience Through The Eyes Of Amarachi, A Travel Blogger

We thank the Bearded Old Man above for making it possible for us to witness the beginning of yet another week. It is a little above two weeks to the day of reckoning for Mr Ogwanfunu and his arrogant greedy bastards. As expected, they are leaving no stones unturned in their bid to cling on to power in order to continue milking the cow dry. Massa, money be what!

I’m not a fan of Zu-za but I admire their determination not to release their hold on power. They’ve flooded both the print and electronic media with all manner of adverts in their bid to convince some gullible voters. The party does not mind flaunting its ill-gotten money in the name of campaigning. Mr Ogwanfunu, his deputy and political appointees are vigorously campaigning as if they are rather in opposition. One tends to wonder why they do not allow their so-called infrastructural achievements to do the campaigning for them.

Did I hear you say what they are doing are traits of a dying animal? It may be so, but this animal is definitely going to cause a lot of destruction before it breathes its last. It is the reason I entreat those riding on the Great Elephant and chanting for change to gird their loins for a bitter political fight as we enter the homestretch.

After a long wait, the Supreme Court (SC) has finally granted the Chief Citizen Vigilante permission to orally question Woyome in court. Frankly, I leapt for joy when the news reached me. I did take a few steps in the name of dancing. But trust me when I say mine was nothing compared to Wofa Kweku Baako’s special Azonto dance at Peace FM studios. Kweh, the “old boy” has dancing skills!

It is obvious no true patriot would be offended by the most recent Supreme Court ruling. You must be a thief yourself; have benefited from the Woyome loot; or be an unrepentant fool to be saddened by the SC ruling. Any true patriot cannot help but feel disheartened by the government’s handling of the Woyome saga.

Ever watched a thriller and its suspenseful moments? The anxiety is simply unbearable. Trust me when I say that is how I feel as I anxiously await the Amidu Vrs Woyome verbal fight in the SC on Thursday. I just can’t wait!

In the meantime, the bespectacled bald-headed greedy bastard has gone on rampage calling the Chief Citizen Vigilante all manner of names. I’m told he and two of his aides besieged Citifm studios last Saturday and threatened to show the owners and workers of the station their karate and Tae Kwan Do skills. Hmmm!

It is more than obvious that the known Zu-za financier is very livid. But Woyome should know that the frown on the face of the ram does not prevent its owner from taking it to the “mayanka” (slaughter house).

Some moons back I had a problem with my ears and was compelled to see an ENT specialist at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. I therefore thought my ear problem had resurfaced when I first heard Mr Ogwanfunu’s comment about how he pitied Northerners who were calling for change. I needed a confirmation from a friend to believe that my ears were not deceiving me.

I know many Northerners who feel bad about Mr Ogwanfunu’s comment. Some even feel insulted and belittled. Indeed, many have openly expressed their disgust at the un-presidential comments by a president who has little respect for decency.

I believe they are very justified. But unlike them, I don’t feel insulted. I rather feel sad that a fellow Northerner who had brought so much shame to his people would not be wise enough to stop vomiting foul-scented words. I feel nothing but pity for him!

Mr President, I’m a Northerner who stands for change and I don’t need your pity. If anyone deserves pity, then it is not me; and neither is it any of those yearning for a change from your corrupt ways. Rather, you are the one who deserves our pity. A president without conscience and with an insatiable appetite for looting deserves nothing but pity.

Those who deserve pity are the workers who would vote for you even though you are denying them a peaceful and restful retirement by siphoning their TIER TWO contributions. Those who deserve pity are the people who would mortgage their future comfort by collecting paltry sums and go shouting ‘e dey be keke’. Those who deserve pity are the people who cannot pay their children’s school fees and utility bills, but would vote for you anyway because you are their brethren.

Yes, I’m a Northerner. But my conscience would not allow me to vote for a toxic combination of corruption, incompetence and greed. I will, on any day, choose an incorruptible Southerner over an unrepentant corrupt Northerner. Mr Ogwanfunu can continue deceiving himself that all is well. But he should remember that the last cry of a ram that finds a knife at its throat is TRAGEDY!

See you next week for another interesting konkonsa, Deo volente!
