Long before they could say jack, the new guy whose muscles and physiognomy caught the eyes of all the ladies in the valley of Sorek had found for himself that lucky woman. All the other residents would admit that Samson always expressed his love for Delilah publicly like a mother would her baby. Indeed, she was considered to be the chosen among all women in the neighbourhood. She could not help it but to keep her head high as a way of acknowledging them for such kind compliments.
As new as he was in the hood, Samson was disliked for his extra manly braviness. For no other reason, they wished for Samson’s downfall. This indicated that the secret of his strength was still unknown. She felt disappointed as she said to Sampson; “baby, you lied to me and broke my heart. If you really love me, tell me the secret behind your strength”.
So he again said to her, “if I am bound with new ropes that have never been used, I will be weak and ripped off my strength”. Later in the evening, when Sampson was fast asleep, she bound him with new ropes, saying, “they are coming after you.” For the second second time, he ripped the ropes off his arms like a mere thread. Then Delilah said to him sobbing, “You do not trust me enough to tell me what I ask of you. If you love me tell me the secret of your strength”.

Now when Samson was having a nap, she hurriedly wove the locks of his head just as she was told. To her utter dismay, her sweetheart on waking up by her false alarm pulled out the batten and the web from the loom. Her attempts to cause Samson to lose his strength had been fruitless. Then she confronted him with the tears in her eyes running down her cheeks, “how can you say you love me when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me for three times. You do not care about how I feel right?”.
Not even did a single day pass without Delilah showing up with a countenance as sorrowful as an abandoned bride on the day of her wedding.
