Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu is the parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress in Nalerigu-Gambaga Constituency. The constituency is currently occupied by the National Democratic Congress. Dr. Tia Alfred Sugri is the current Member of Parliament and also Deputy Minister for Environment, Science Technology and Innovation. Dr. Tia Alfred Sugri decided not to contest this year’s parliamentary elections and that paved way for another politician and businessman to surface and represent the National Democratic Congress in Nalerigu-Gambaga Constituency for 2016 general elections.
The NDC primaries in the constituency saw five competent men contest. They were Hon. Sam Danse Salifu, Hon. Adam Imoro and Hon. Issah kaponde. The rest were Hon. Ibrahim Tia and Hon. Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu.
Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu emerged the winner amongst the five candidates. He is popularly referred to us the people’s man. Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu is now a household name in the constituency. He is out to make history in Mamprugu.
The real battle is now between Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu on the ticket of the NDC and the representative of the NPP.
I want to advance reasons why Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu is the candidate to win Nalerigu-Gambaga Constituency Seat for the National Democratic Congress.
One of the biggest tool that will help Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu in this year’s general elections is his commitment to the progress of Nalerigu-Gambaga Constituency. He has taken it upon himself to work first for the people to see before they vote for him. This tool is actually a plus for him and will propel him to the political ladder. His commitment has made all constituents to give him their support. We have never seen this before in the history of the Constituency. Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu is a history maker. He is more committed to the development of Mamprugu especially Nalerigu-Gambaga Constituency than anyone else. I doff my hat for him for his commitment.
Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu has drilled a number of boreholes across the length and breadth of the Constituency. This makes it easier for children and women to have access to portable drinking water.
I am not saying it but the constituents have confirmed it all. Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu is the largest investor in the constituency besides central government. You think I should not support such a businessman but rather support somebody who has no interest in my constituency? I, Atindow Musah, will never do that. I must be part of the history making team. He has a Fuel Station and Pure Water processing Factory all to his credit. He has built a gargantuan Mason in the constituency. This is the kind of man we are talking about. A man with a few words couple with desirable and favorable actions. A man who is prepared to lay the foundations of hope for everyone in the constituency. This man I am talking about is the torch bearer of Mamprugu politics.
The agenda of women empowerment is an area Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu will not play with if given the mandate to represent the constituency. He has plans to lobby with Northern Women and Advancement Program(NWAP) to set up their office in the constituency where women can visit and have access to soft loans. The NGO has already helped 500 women with loan facilities. This will help our mothers and sisters to start up small scale businesses. The long term effect will be that, our women will be empowered to take good care of their children and other family members.
Interestingly, another plan by Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu which is gaining grounds is the establishment of Perpetual Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) to support needy but brilliant students in the constituency if given the political nod. He is not an MP yet, but I can knock my chest and say he has helped pay not less than twenty students’ school fees to get to Senior High Schools. Nobody, I mean nobody’s achievements in the political history of the Constituency can come closer to the achievements of the people’s man as his affectionately called. This makes him the suitable candidate for the constituency.
Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu has considered rural electrification a serious issue in the constituency. He has plans to connect all villages in the constituency to the national grid. All the villages in the constituency should be rest assured that if Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu is voted as our Member of Parliament for Nalerigu-Gambaga Constituency, they will be provided with electricity.
I therefore call on well meaning people in Nalerigu-Gambaga Constituency to come out massively on 7th December, 2016 and vote Alhaji Baba Seidu Issifu as our Member of Parliament.
