AshGold head coach, C. K. Akunnor, has lifted the lid on what caused his team to beat Inter Allies 3-0 on Sunday in the Week 19 of the Ghana Premier League (GPL).
The Miners continued their good form in recent weeks with a win which came via goals from Hans Kwofie (2 goals) and Daniel Gozar.
C. K. Akunnor told reporters after the match that setting up to play down the flanks gave them the route to success.
“I saw Inter Allies play against the Black Stars B team and I got an idea of how we could beat them. I saw that using the wings would hurt them. Most of our goals came through the sides.
They made it difficult for us initially and it took time for us to settle down but my players did well. They were disciplined tactically. Allies wanted to have the ball so we needed to be patient without it and we had to be quick when we had it. I am happy with the result but there is more to be done.”
The win helps the Miners go unbeaten in five matches in their bid to avoid relegation.
