Some names including those of the past Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Prof. Joshua Alabi; former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, Mr. Sylvester Mensah, and the immediate past Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, have emerged as possible names of candidates for the race, the latest being former Majority leader and current 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

Posters of Alban Bagbin have been circulating on social media and reports suggest he may be vying for the position of the NDC’s Flagbearership, though Mr. Bagbin has denied having knowledge of these posters and the information they are communicating, it is obvious the 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament remains an option in the minds of Ghanaians.
