Students from 15 senior high schools in the Western Region will from March 1 participate in the 6th drama and poetry festival in Takoradi to preach against corruption, a canker that has permeated the country.

Themed: “Using Drama as a Conduit to Fight Corruption” the students will use poetry and drama educate students about the negative impact of corruption on Ghana and its effects on the individuals during the two-day event being organised by the Center for National Culture (CNC).

Acting Director for the Western Region CNC, Rev. Stephen Ebo Kese, said his outfit found it prudent to use the event to fight corruption due to how widespread it has become in Ghana.

“We arrived at this theme because we all know how corruption has become a topmost and endemic thing the country is currently battling with, and so we thought it wise to use our medium to let students get more education on corruption and its effect so that they can desist from it in future”, he noted.

He has meanwhile called for support to make the program a success.

The participating schools are Archbishop SHS, Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS), St. Johns SHS, Adiembra SHS, Methodist SHS, Daboase SHS, Mpohor SHS, Takoradi SHS (Tadisco) and Tarkwa SHS

The rest are Gwiraman SHS, Badu Bonsu SHS, Nsien SHS, Bompeh SHS, Takoradi Technical Institute (T. T.I) and Diabene SHS
