One person was seriously injured when students from the Commonwealth Hall (Vandals) of the University of Ghana clashed with their counterparts from the University Hall (KATANGA) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Monday evening.
At least 10 persons have been arrested by officers from the Legon District Police Command who quickly moved in to quell the clash from getting worse, 3news.com gathered.
The KATANGA boys had arrived in Accra from Kumasi in the Ashanti region to participate in a debate organised by their ally, Sarbah Hall of the University of Ghana.
Maxwell Obiri Yeboah who is at the University of Ghana campus told 3FM News that the Vandals were infuriated by a video which went viral on campus, showing a man believed to be their member being molested by the visiting KANTAGA boys.
The Vandals therefore stormed the venue for the debate in an attempt to rescue their colleague. They were resisted which degenerated into the clash.
Calm has however returned to campus of the university, Yeboah observed.
