“That report is palpable falsehood and well-calculated by miscreants to create disaffection” for the Minister, a statement from Communications Ministry on Tuesday said.

“The minister has not uttered and will never subscribe to the views of any person relating to the subject matter.”

Below is the full statement

The attention of the Office of the Communications Minister has been drawn to a malicious reportage circulating on social and the mainstream media that the Minister has described Muslims as intolerable.

That report is palpable falsehood and well-calculated by miscreants to create disaffection between the Minister Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful and the Muslim community. The minister has not uttered and will never subscribe to the views of any person relating to the subject matter.

The Office of the Communications Minister takes a strong view of the fake religious reportage making rounds intended to ruin the peaceful co-existence between Muslims and Christians.

The office strongly cautions persons who have made it their preoccupation to publish such falsehood and create disaffection between the minister and any religious group to desist from such reckless and tribalistic reports. Persons responsible for such publications should recognize and be reminded that they are liable to prosecution under the laws of the country.

The Office therefore takes recognition of the apology rendered by www.ghanacrusader.com, (initiator of the falsehood), www.peacefmonline.com amongst others and demands a retraction and apology from the other platforms to avoid any further actions. The Honourable minister has and will continuously work with all persons devoid of their religious affiliations to move Ghana beyond aid.

Media Persons who want clarifications should kindly contact our office whenever the need arises.
